Los alumnos de Educación Infantil descubren; con motivo del Día del Libro el próximo 23 de Abril, la obra maestra de Don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra “ Don Quijote de la Mancha”.

Todos los días leemos y vemos en el aula una aventura de sus personajes, hacemos muchas actividades. Lo pasamos tan bien y demuestran tanto interés que prefieren las aventuras de Don Quijote y Sancho Panza a la “Patrulla Canina”.

         Gracias a la celebración del IV Centenario de la muerte de Miguel de Cervantes descubrimos su vida y su obra.

       Los alumnos de 3ºA celebramos          SAINT  PATRICK'S  DAY

         Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated each March 17^th in honor of Ireland's patron saint, Saint Patrick.

     El día de San Patricio se celebra cada 17 de Marzo en honor del santo patrón de Irlanda, San Patricio.

        Patrick was born of wealthy parents, in England, about 385 A.D. His full name was Magonus Sucatus Patricius. When Patrick was sixteen years old, he was kidnapped by Irish pirates and eventually sold as a slave.

       Patricio nació en una familia acomodada en Inglaterra, sobre el año 385 D.C. Su nombre completo era Magonus Sucatus Patricius. Cuando Patricio tenía dieciseis años, fue secuestrado por piratas irlandeses vendido como esclavo.

         For several years, Patrick worked as a shephard in northern Ireland. It was during this time that he decided to devote his life to Christ and teach the Irish his faith. After much hardship, Patrick escaped his captors and fled to France where he began studying for the priesthood. He soon returned to Ireland where he taught the Irish to read and write along with the teachings of Christianity.

        Durante varios años, Patricio trabajó como pastor en el norte de Irlanda. Fue durante este período cuando decidió dedicar su vida a Cristo y enseñar a los irlandese su fe. Después de trabajar duro, Patricio escapó y marchó a Francia donde empezó a estudiar para ser sacerdote. Pronto regresó a Irlanda donde enseñó a leer y escribir a los irlandeses a través de sus enseñanzas del cristianismo.

         It is believed that Saint Patrick was responsible for bringing the small shamrock plant to Ireland. He often used the shamrock in his sermons to illustrate the message of the Holy Trinity. Today, the shamrock is the national flower of Ireland.

         Se cree que San Patricio fue el responsable de llevar a Irlanda la pequeña planta del trébol. A menudo utilizaba el trébol en sus sermones para enseñar el mensaje de la Santísima Trinidad. Hoy, el trébol es la flor nacional de Irlanda.

         Most historians do not believe the many stories about St. Patrick. But one thing is sure, on March 17^th, with many festive gatherings around the world, everyone is Irish!!

        La mayoría de los historiadores no creen en la gran cantidad de historias sobre san Patricio. Pero lo que es seguro es que, el 17 de Marzo, celebrando muchos eventos festivos en todo el mundo, todos somos Irlandeses!!

THE  LEPRECHAUNS 

  As legend states, every leprechaun has a pot of gold hidden in a secret place at the end of the rainbow, and if captures, he must give up his golden treasure.  

         Of course, it's quite difficult to catch a leprechaun. They are especially tricky and can often turn themselves into rabbits or squirrels to fool you into thinking they are something they aren't. When they are caught, however, they often trick their captors, so they can make their escape into the woods. 

         One tale is told of an Irish gentleman, after much searching and effort, captured one of the wee folks. The Irisman finally persuaded the leprechaun to take him to the forest where his treasure of gold was buried. It is said that the man quickly tied a red ribbon to a branch on one of the trees and hurried home to fetch a shovel. When he returned a short time later to dig up his treasure, a red ribbon had been fastened to every tree in the forest. 

         Leprechauns love to play tricks on people, causing them to drop or spill things. They often hide keys and other belongings, just to frustate us. So, next time you lose a possession that you swear should be right where you left it, don't be surprised if it's only some silly leprechaun having fun and playing tricks to pass the time.
